Dr. Samir Nanavati, practicing exclusively as Joint replacement surgeon in Ahmedabad since 2004.He completed his M.B.B.S. in 1998 from B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad & Joined Orthopaedics where pioneering work in joint replacement was a beginning. Subsequently, He obtained M.S. in 2001 from same institute.
After M.S. in Orthopaedics, He was invited for the Depuy-J & J Fellowship with Dr. Arun Mullaji in Bombay hospital and Breech Candy hospital where He continued to work until September 2002.
He was invited to Germany in May 2007 for discussion on recent advances in Joint Replacement, like primary and revision replacement surgeries with Dr. Prof. Med. P. Schuler as well as Dr. Med Udo Malzar.
In May-June 2008, He went to Dr. Vijay Bose & Bangkok cadaveric work shop to master the art of Hip Resurfacing surgery, minimally invasive and soft tissue preserving surgeries.
In June-2010, He had gone to Seoul, South Korea for Revision Replacement surgery for both hip and knee.
In July 2012, He was invited to visit most prestigious Hip Centre Exeter in UK, Where , Most successful cemented Hip Implants was designed.
In September 2013, He visited Dr. David Fisher, Indianapolis, USA. He is one of the designer surgeon of "Attune" knee implant which is considered one of the most advanced design of Knee Replacement.
In April 2015, He went to Italy to work with Dr. Luca Marrega for minimally invasive soft tissue preserving Hip Replacement and Revision Hip Replacement Surgery.
He has experienced with good number of interesting cases in various conditions like Protrusio hip, developmental dysplasia of hip, ankylosed hip, subluxated hips. In case of knees, He has performed surgeries on varus and flexion deformities, large bony defects, malunited fractures and stress fractures etc.
